Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I am very happy to be able to give you this gift of preserving your wedding bouquet and flowers. This is a wonderful way to remember this special day and turn your wedding bouquet into art. The method of pressing and drying flowers and other plant parts in a specialized flower press allows for preserving the vibrant natural colors when they are at their peak. The colors of the original pressed flowers will fade over time, as will flowers in a garden.

What does it mean to preserve flowers? I will preserve your flowers by using a handmade wood flower press. You can see the process here. The press provides the pressure needed to gradually extract the water and moisture from each flower and leaf. I will open the press daily to change out the moist paper for dry paper. This is a very important step in the process because moisture will turn your flowers brown. The press will flatten the flower and leaves. It is a slow process and one that requires lots of attention and care. This can take up to 4-6 weeks depending on the variety of flowers.

Once the flowers are pressed and dried, laying out the composition is next. You will always be a part of the design process. A draft of the composition will be sent to you for your approval. Any changes or suggestions should be made at this time before assembling and gluing the final piece.

You will receive a framed picture of the original pressed flowers plus a giclee print of the composition. The reason I add the giclee is to capture the colors of the flowers at their peak. The giclee will last forever. I recommend displaying your flower art away from direct sunlight, windows and air vents. How long will this take? The entire process, from the time I receive your flowers to the finished piece of art to shipping back to you, may take up to 3 months.

To get started, please secure your reservation by paying a non-refundable deposit. After I receive your reservation, I will be in touch to go over the details & answer any questions you may have. Once your deposit is received, your date will be reserved.

Your framed, preserved bouquet & giclee will be professionally packed and shipped by my shipper. They will call you and you can pay them directly for the cost of shipping & insurance.  Please select to have it shipped back to you via Overnight shipping or 2 Day Express. You may also choose to pick up your finished artwork from my studio by scheduling an appointment.
